Bot guide
Create your Discord bot
Your Guildwick bot is your own Discord application. Creating it is free and takes about five minutes. You need a Discord account with two-factor authentication turned on.
Open the Developer PortalCreate an application
Open the Discord Developer Portal and sign in. Press New Application, type a name (for example your server's name), accept the terms and press Create.
Give your bot a face
Open the Bot page in the left menu. Set the username and upload an avatar. This is how the bot appears in your server.
Turn on two intents
On the same Bot page, scroll to Privileged Gateway Intents. Turn on Server Members Intent and Message Content Intent, then press Save Changes. Without these, welcome messages, automod and levels cannot work.
Keep the bot private (recommended)
Open the Installation page and set Install Link to None, then save. Go back to the Bot page and turn off Public Bot. Now only you can add the bot to servers.
Copy the token
On the Bot page, press Reset Token and confirm. Copy the long text that appears. Discord shows it only once.
Paste it in Guildwick
In your dashboard, pick your server and open the Bot page. Paste the token and press Save. We check it and show a button to add the bot to your server.
Keep your token secret
- The token is the password of your bot. Anyone who has it can control the bot.
- Never paste it in Discord chats, screenshots or support tickets. Guildwick staff will never ask for it.
- If it leaks, press Reset Token in the Developer Portal and paste the new token in Guildwick. The old one stops working at once.
